Need help identifying 2 types of bamboo please
A friend of mine has 2 types of bamboo available. Wanted to learn a little more about each, especially whether or not they are clumping varieties. Thank in advance!

Is the top sheared off the first one? Looks like a Fargesia of some type, if so, that is a clumping bamboo.
The second one in the pot looks like Psudosasa Japonica to me. If that is what it is, it is a running bamboo.

Yes the green one was recently trimmed. Was about 10' tall. Got a few more pictures of each.

The topless one likely Fargesia sp. 'Scabrida' given the leaf shape and sheen, a few of the visible sheaths, and angular clump shape and demeanor of what's left with the top chopped

Thanks for the responses. For the black one, is there any way to tell if it's the running type by looking at the roots? It's been planted in the pot for 2 years.

If one of them is black then it is the running for Phyllostachys nigra, the black clumping forms are unlikely to be WA or anywhere in the US saves for southern CA, south TX, FL etc.

Definitely not japonica for the record. No culm sheaths anywhere I think guarantees that. Nodes and branches look way more like nigra, or another phyllo, then japonica also in my very limited experience. It just happens to be one I do have and am familiar with.
