Hi there,
We noticed that there is bamboo growing at new house that has been left to grow wild. Can anyone help identify what type of bamboo this is? We are located in zone 6a (near Buffalo NYC). Any help would be most welcomed! thank you!

Hard to tell from those pictures, probably some sort of Phyllostachys.
If you get a good picture of emerging shoots, it is possible to ID from them most of the time.

Well, in Toronto/Buffalo it will be a really really hardy bamboo. That narrows down the filed a lot. So most likely a Phyllostachys, and from those, most likely aureosulcata, nuda, bisettii, or maybe atrovaginata. It could be several others, but the list is short.
Happy trails...
