King, I'd love to see how your big divisions of Nuda are going to shoot. so far what you gave is just sitting pretty. no activity. I'm hoping for something. Curious about the nuda. does it make a dense screen?? or is it a thinner type. I'm still undecided exactly where to put it in my yard although i do have a spot that is a bit woodsy and they can go in there.

It makes a nice screen as well as a good walkthrough grove judging from
my visits to the Rutgers gardens. I am also anxious to see the new culms I'll get from my big divisions but am just happy with the few big culms which I have.

New shoots have not begun yet at Rutgers. I did find a very unusual culm and posted it in the bamboo photo section.

that is a strange one. any speculation on the age of that one?? Any idea what might have caused that to happen?? nice pic

I don't know why it has that. It goes all the way up like that. Out of 1000's of culms I looked at today, this one was quite a sight. I still have to go back and look for more "unusual" culms. I only finished about 20% of them...

Rutgers has been shooting for a few days. The biggest shoot measured over 2 1/4inches.

I figured it was high time. I can almost hear the ground moving. Nice pix you have in the gallery...

I bet if you listen closely in the grove you will hear it growing, leaves shifting on the ground, culm sheaths slipping and dropping. Watch out for Bigfoot.

I spotted him momentarily, then he took off into the deep cover of the grove. I saw Bigfoot chewing on some giant culms.

I kind of figured the Jersey Devil would be more likely to be spotted there.
