One of the polar ice boo I got from a fellow boomaster.

I would like to thank everybody for the info they have unleashed onto this forum......and on this special day.......I would like to thank the people that have given me bamboo plants this year......

Rick from Pencilvania
Mike from Wisconsiberia
Brad from Hawaii-Indiana-Europe
Pat from Old Jersey
David from the 'Greener than Iowa' state

And a thank you to Mike from the Sugar Land, for the pecans that have found their way to my house.

Did I forget anybody?

Hope that Phyllostachys Nuda Rutgers clone stands up to a "real winter"....
In 5 years you'll have a grove of 1 inch culms covering a 20ft by 20ft area hopefully.

Yep, that is the boo in the pic. That polar ice gum wrapper must have been a dead give away.

Man, I'm glad I'm back on the mailing list. I guess if I paid my dues I wouldn't have missed the last 23 issues of LoonyK.

I too have one of them thar 'Rutgers' nuda from BooKing. Yes, 5 yrs to 1" culms in a 20x20' grove sounds acceptable to me. The other nuda plants I have growing here are doing pretty well after a couple of years.

They say "you snooze, you lose"
The sad thing is, they are special. You can't backorder previous issues. 8)
I should update things in the coming days. .... like heights of my bamboo and species that I have.

Lance,

Which of your bamboo seems to be growing the best?
And you are very welcome for what I sent you. It was my pleasure.

Regards,

TOP 3 as of 2006
It's Not Easy Being Green

1.Rubro, Bisset(stayed greenest the longest last winter, but bisset won't get a chance to prove itself this winter, what a shame)

2.yellow groove(rabbit damage limited its spread this year)

3.nuda(Leaves were killed fast last winter, but it spread out and sized up, even though voles had fun playing with this one.)

As the years go by, others will prove to be just as good, or better..stay tuned.....
