rhizome trade
Anyone doing any transplanting this fall interested in rhizome trading, please let me know. Thanks.

Rhizomes planted or potted in the fall tend to produce rather poor results, compared to spring rhizome cuttings. Planting and dividing in the fall is fine though. I actually prefer to plant potted bamboos in the ground in the fall. However at that time of year, I just toss out any rhizomes that break off. Winter is just around the corner then, and my test results of planting rhizomes in the fall have been very poor for me in the past.

Thanks Schmu, I guess I'll try in the Spring. Transplanting can wait till then and I won't have to discard a mound of rhizomes but can multiply my plants considerably.
