Ph. seeds for trade

Post by ShmuBamboo »

Phyllostachys glauca 'Yunzhu' seeds. Plant sourced from Bamboo Garden some years ago. These are fresh ripe seeds, with more developing now. Will sell or trade seeds for 2012 spring rhizomes from any of the following boos:

Ph. arcana 'Luteosulcata'
Ph. bissetii (type or dwarf)
Ph. decora/ AKA: Ph. mannii 'Decora'
Ph. humilis
Ph. nigra 'Hale', 'Othello', 'Megurochiku', or 'Tosaensis'
Ph. nuda 'Localis'
Semi. makinoi
Semi. lubrica
Semi. yashadake 'Kimmei'
Chimonobambusa tumidissinoda /AKA: Qiongzhuea tumidissinoda

No trades outside of the USA. Sorry. The US live bamboo import quarantine is still in effect, last I looked.

As it turns out, most of these seeds are not viable. Of the 30 or so seeds that I got that are solid and hard, they have all been traded for rhizomes. So... the plant is still blooming and setting seeds, and if I get more viable ones, I will update this thread. In the meantime I am traded out of these seeds for now.
Happy trails...

Hey Gil- I'll look for some seeds next time I'm near the glauca. The plant is heavy with seeds but I don't know if they are viable.
