I think a couple of other people have mentioned thier Tsuboi flowering- Dan and Brad?
anyway, once the flowers open, they have to fertilize to get seeds, so it will be a few months. once the flowers start turning dry, thats when you want to see if you can shake any seed out of them, if you want to try to propagate any. some people use old nylon stockings to put around the seed heads so they dont loose any seed.
Just checked the greenhouse and my tsuboi is flowering too. Not too surprising as mine came from Gene's. I already have a couple of tsuboi seedlings (green) that I started from seed I collected in Seattle last year.
I'm more interested to see if my fortunei will flower again this year, or how strong it comes back.
The Tsuboi seeds lose fertility fairly quickly and I would suggest planting them as soon as they fall off the plant.
I looked at my Tsuboi and it still is still alive after flowering last year. So far no sign of flowers this year, but then again it is probably a bit early.
The legal issues that will arise when the undead walk the earth are legion, and addressing them all is well beyond what could reasonably be accomplished in this brief Essay. Indeed, a complete treatment of the tax issues alone would require several volumes.

I may have an answer to that question in a few months. Mine survived flowering last year and is still alive. It may or may not do more flowering this year when it starts putting up shoots.

It would be a good idea to contact Betty Shor of the ABS and report your flowering of Pleioblastus shibuyanus 'Tsuboi'. So far she has only one report of it flowering.

Nothing like coming late to the party....
My Tsuboi is flowering also. Noticed it this past week.
I shear it to the ground each winter, so it came out flowering.
