Since April I have had only .25" of rain and total this year we have had only 60% of our average rainfall.
Of course last month the wet side of the state had record rainfall

And now I know a negative of receiving rain every day for 3 months... Today has been sunny all day, and every boo I have in the ground is curling it's leaves. It rained yesterday afternoon.
Looks like I need to turn my sprinkler system back on.

Well...it's back!
We've actually had a totally dry week, so i guess that's why my forecast is totally rainy for the next 7 days. There are some rain bands from Erin on the radar already...
Boonut, it looks like it's headed straight for you. I hope your farm will escape big flooding tomorrow.

We got a whole .01 inches of rain yesterday. The ground is dry, dry, DRY! I keep checking the weather radar and have seen several storms just sort of fall apart before they get here. WE NEED RAIN!

It is currently still dry here. The wind is picking up. The good thing is that the river that goes by my house is down more than 25' from a few weeks ago, so I shouldn't be in any danger from flooding.

Why would they center the death ray on the Caribbean? Are they trying to kill Jack Sparrow?

RE: Rain, Rain GO AWAY!!!
This has been a great year for rain for us here NW of Brenham TX, but had been dry for us the past few weeks and some of the plants started to need watering although the grass is still green in the shade. A lot of recent rain storms have just missed us, sometimes only by a mile or two. It looks like this present storm should bring us some rain today. We usually get less than 40 inches/year so I never complain about rain although I am sorry for the people living in low lying areas when we get a torrential downpour.

RE: Rain, Rain GO AWAY!!!
I checked the weather radar last night to see if there was any rain heading our way. None was, but up around Gary the radar was using the OMG-WE'RE-ALL-GOING-TO-DIE color. I had never seen the radar use that color before.
I checked the news and there was nothing being reported at the time.

RE: Rain, Rain GO AWAY!!!
I just checked the weather radar and we have rain moving into the area. The color code indicates some heavy rain. Yay!

I finally saw some news reports on the storms in Northwest Indiana, along with pictures and video. Very scary!
I knew the Purple, Magenta and White areas on the weather radar couldn't be good!

*Grumble* The storm split in two and passed North and South of us. Once it passed it rejoined together.

Was hoping for a bit more rain from Erin than we got. Down at my parents' and at my dad's work, we got 5-6 inches through the whole day. Up by my house we only got .59"

I've lived at my current house for 29 years and I have the same thing happen on many an occasion. Way too many for my liking. There has to be some physical/scientific/meteorological explanation for this phenomenon.foxd wrote:*Grumble* The storm split in two and passed North and South of us.
