Angle mist started. Down to three in ground boo's left to shoot...Painted, one of my four oldhammi's and the clone-X. Clone-X was late last year but went nuts when it started about 20 shoots no aborts.

That's something I've noticed about the Clone X. Very few new shoots abort. If it comes up out of the soil, then it tends to grow and not abort.

All of my bamboos finally have new shoots. :hello1:

Arundinaria gigantea 'Macon' only has a couple of small shoots that are smaller than last year.

Fargesia murieliae has shoots about a foot taller than last year and might match the height of original plant after 2 years.

Pseudosasa japonica and 'Tsutsumiana' both have a number of small shoots.

Shibataea kumasaca has a couple of new shoots per plant but they are still short (about 6 inches).

Thamnocalamus tessellatus has two shoots that are about the same diameter as last year.

I went by my son's house today and he has 12 shoots coming up of of his B. textilis Kanapabilis (Mutabilis/Kanapaha). The shoots range anywhere in height from a few inches to about 3 feet. His plant is in full sun, where as mine is in mostly shade, so I haven't gotten any shoots yet.
